Chapter 132
Aisha's POV
They waited in the hollow below like a tide held back by an invisible dam, thousands of eyes gleamed in the moonlight. Wolves crouched low. Vampires stood still as statues. And in the center, leaning on a blackened spear, stood Brayden.
His gaze found mine first. Even from this distance, I felt the force of it, a cruel smile cutting across his face.
"She came back," he said loudly, his voice carrying across the hollow. "The white wolf returns."
The vampire lord stepped forward beside him, pale and elegant, his long coat dragging through the mud. His eyes burned red, sharp and cold.
"This ends tonight," Simon said, his voice low and even.
"Does it?" Brayden laughed, the sound like a blade against glass. "You came for her, and now you are all here. Perfect."
He raised his spear, and the enemy surged forward.
The hollow became chaos.
