Chapter 137
Simon's POV
The last of the lanterns still flickered as the courtyard emptied. From my place on the balcony, I watched the glow of the celebration dim into silence. Below, Thomas held Emma close, spinning her slowly even though the music had long stopped. Her laughter drifted upward, bright, uninhibited, alive.
For a man like Thomas to earn that kind of joy, he had to be doing something right.
I didn't like him. That hadn't changed. But I respected him now.
He has shown that he would be there for the pack, even though I knew deep down that he wasn't going to do anything to hurt my sister. What I didn't want to voice out was the fact that I still think he has feelings for Aisha.
It was high time I gave him that chance Aisha had been asking me to.
He had spoken his vows without a tremble and promised with the eyes of warriors watching, with the weight of his past and hers between them. Most men would have faltered under that pressure. He hadn't and maybe that was enough.
