"Nathaniel Andrews." Evelyn's calm voice cut through the noise of the venue.
Everyone turned their heads instantly.
Even Nathaniel looked over, his face flickering with a hint of surprise when he saw her—then his eyes darkened as they locked onto the man next to her. Julian. Again.
Evelyn walked up to him, unhurriedly, her lips curved in a cold smile. "Such acting chops, what a waste not going into showbiz."
Nathaniel quickly masked his emotions and stepped forward, reaching out to grab her wrist. "Evelyn, you're here. Don't worry, I'll fix everything."
"As for the wedding, we can just pick another date to do it properly." He deliberately brought up the wedding again, clearly trying to draw attention back to her.
But Evelyn only looked at him like he was a joke.
She let out a sharp, humorless laugh. "Wedding? Mr. Andrews, I don't recall ever agreeing to marry you."
