Chapter 431 Public Mockery
Vivian wondered if Nancy was deliberately trying to drive her crazy.
"I can't accept your gift. Take it back," Vivian said coldly, her tone laced with disdain.
Freya and Ian stepped forward at the same time.
Ian frowned. "Mom, this is just Nancy's way of showing she meant well."
"Meant well? A fake antique?" Vivian was already angry to begin with, so being questioned like this pushed her over the edge. In a burst of rage, she tore through the polite facade.
The room fell silent. Everyone stared at Nancy, their expressions a mix of shock and disbelief.
"What was Nancy thinking, giving Mrs. Moore Senior a fake brooch?"
"Seriously? At first, I thought it was real, and I was even a little jealous of Mrs. Moore Senior. But now that I think about it, there's no way it could be authentic. This brooch was lost decades ago, and if it ever resurfaced, it would be tarnished or worn—but this one looks perfectly untouched."
"If I were Nancy, I'd want to crawl into a hole and disappear."
