When Noelle saw Ivy and Eason, she couldn't help but marvel at how unpredictable fate could be. Then again, it made sense. Ivy was also staying at this hospital, so running into her wasn't exactly surprising.
Emma had seen Ivy too, but she said nothing after a glance.
They walked over to another bench and basked in the sun.
Emma smiled and said, "I never used to think much of the sun, but after everything that's happened, I've realized how many things I used to take for granted."

Noelle thought back to her past life, when she'd been locked away in a dark room. Every day, the thing she longed for most was to feel the sun on her skin.
