Mila was being upfront because she wanted Marcus to know that he still had better options.
But Marcus was clear with her. "I only want to work with you. If you're at a company, I'll work with that company. If you start your own business, I'll work with you. Bottom line, I'm choosing you."
He even went a step further and added, "I'm actually glad the deal with Royal Investment fell through. If I had signed only to find out later that you had left the firm, that would've been a real loss."
Mila was moved, but she didn't let that stop her from emphasizing the many challenges they were about to face. First and foremost was the funding.
Their startup capital was a drop in the bucket. Once they actually got things moving, that cash would burn up in no time. If the funding dried up later, the project would likely fail, and she didn't want Marcus' early efforts to go to waste.
She proposed a plan to find new investors as quickly as possible. They could co-develop and grow the project
