Chapter 165 Caring Just as Much
Imelda and Wren left the ward together.
The hallway lights were ghastly white, casting long, thin shadows down the stretch.
Imelda spun around and grabbed the collar of Wren's white coat with both hands, her face blazing with anger.
"Why didn't you let me talk Lila out of it just now? Didn't you see the state she was in? She's also injured. How can her body take it if she keeps forcing herself like this?"
Wren, however, did not fight against her grip. With his hands in his pockets, he leaned lazily against the wall.
He arched a brow, and a nosy, gloating smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth.
"And how are you going to talk her out of it? Have her go home? Tell her to get some rest? Then for Rhett to find the bedside empty and think he risked his life to save an ungrateful wretch?"
Wren's counter was all for Rhett's benefit.
