Chapter 169
Kyra's POV
Last night, Nathan only looked at me with pain in his eyes before choosing to walk away. I didn't follow him, instead crouching by the pool's edge, letting my tears and pain overwhelm me. I had kept Snow away from him, hidden his daughter from him. If he never forgave me, I couldn't blame him. I only hated how we always seemed destined to miss each other and cause each other pain.
"Kyra, don't be too heartbroken," Sylvia whispered in my mind. "Don't forget about the baby you're carrying."
I stopped my sobbing. She was right,Nathan and I still had another child connecting us.
Standing in front of my desk at Foster's company the next day, I tried desperately to find a sense of belonging in my mother's family. No matter how hard I tried, there was nothing. I didn't belong here. This family didn't deserve me.
If Mom thought this family wasn't worthy of being recognized by her daughter, maybe I shouldn't try to fit in either.
