Chapter 22 Cut Me Off
During dinner, Tyren and Stanford clinked glasses over and over, reminiscing about the past and talking about Marquette Group's future. Thalia just sat quietly, listening. It felt like the days before she ever got married.
She couldn't help thinking that if Marquette Group hadn't fallen apart back then, she might never have been forced into marrying Alden for the sake of business ties.
Tyren always kept his word. He'd promised Thalia could only have one drink, and he poured her no more than exactly one glass.
After the meal, Stanford still had work to do, so he headed to the study to take some calls. Thalia and Tyren chatted on the couch.
From Tyren, Thalia learned that his family in Joseville was business owners and were doing well financially. He had left in a hurry back then because his parents had been in a car accident.
