Chapter 65 No longer playing nice
Katelyn POV
I was sitting in the magazine office, fingers curled around a warm mug of coffee, staring blankly at the screen.
The soft clinking of keyboards and the faint hum of printers filled the air, but I wasn’t paying attention.
My mind was still back in that cold, sterile prison visiting room, across from Cayden.
He looked thinner than I remembered. Quieter. But no amount of remorse in his eyes could undo what he had done.
I had stared at him for what felt like an eternity, my heart heavy but strangely calm.
I wouldn’t waste another moment retaliating out of hatred. But I couldn’t forgive him either.
Some things were too deep to mend with apologies.
We were done. Completely.
