I AM SO TIRED

Emily's POV. Reid stumbled, but he didn't fall. With a roar of fury, he grabbed Shane's arm and twisted. There was a sickening crack, and Shane howled in pain. But even injured, Shane was deadly. He lashed out with his other hand, catching Reid across the face. My father went down hard, blood pooling beneath him. Something inside me snapped. The world around me faded away, narrowing down to just me and the monster who had hurt my father. Power surged through me, wild and uncontrolled. I didn't consciously cast a spell. I didn't reach for any specific magical technique. I simply let go, allowing the raw energy inside me to explode outward. A wave of pure magical force erupted from me, slamming into Shane with devastating effect. I heard bones crack, saw blood spray from his mouth as he was lifted off his feet and hurled across the room. He hit the far wall with a sickening crunch and slid to the floor, leaving a smear of blood in his wake. For a moment, the entire hall fell silent, all
