Chapter 24
Aisha's POV
Simon's growl echoed in my ears as he twisted around, his movements still impossibly fast despite his injury. With a sickening crack, he snapped the attacking werewolf's neck in one swift motion. The lifeless body crumpled to the ground.
I barely had a second to process it before Simon barked out the command—
"Retreat!"
His voice was sharp, filled with authority, but I could hear the strain beneath it. The blood still poured from his shoulder, staining his torn shirt, staining his skin.
I wanted to scream at him to stop moving. to let me tend to him but there was no time. More of Jack's warriors were closing in, their furious snarls filling the night air. I insinctively prayed so that no harm would come to them.
Charlie and the others wasted no time in obeying. They fought their way back to the vehicles, forcing a path through the oncoming enemies. A hand grabbed my wrist, Simon's. His grip was tight despite his injury.
"Move, Aisha." His voice was hoarse. Commanding.
